The Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore’s day camp offer a unique and highly regarded model for our summer horse sessions. We provide our campers with a progression-based program that allows girls to focus on expanding their knowledge and acquiring and growing their equestrian skills.
Our campers are evaluated at the start of each week. They are placed into small groups, according to their abilities, and our professional staff will design each session so that every girl is taught at the appropriate level. Progress reports will be sent home via email at the start and end of each week, so that you may recognize your child for her progress along the way!
Girls will learn a myriad of skills, including exploring the anatomy and physiology of the horse, mounting, tacking, grooming, and of course, riding skills! Most importantly, the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore equestrian program teaches girls the principles of horsemanship; discipline, understanding, empathy, compassion, self-control, and dedication.
