They will discover what goes into the caring and keeping of such large and special animals; they will have an instructor-led riding lesson every day.

Horse Fan (Grades 4-5)

Girls will connect with the horse world as they earn their Horse Fan badge. Activities will include daily riding lessons according to level. They will discover how people care for horses and learn barn management skills. Girls will also become familiar with different horse disciplines, horse equipment and riding apparel.

Horse Sense (Grades 6-10)

Throughout this week girls will complete the Interest Project Patch, Horse Sense. The girls will be able to saddle and bridle a horse; they will do this after learning how to identify the different tack and determine its best use. Girls will master basic horse control and learn the rules of a safe trail ride. Girls will also learn basic horse anatomy and the prevention and treatment of common horse ailments.  For the riding lesson, girls will be grouped according to ability.
