Camp Staff
All adult staff members are required to pass a background check, provide references upon application, attend Pre-Camp Training. The staff ratio is generally 10 campers to one staff member.

Finanical Assistance
Financial Assistance is available to all qualified campers
- A maximum award is equal to one week of camp only per girl.
- Financial assistance is not available to boys.
- Financial assistance is not available to girls not yet 5 years of age.
- All requests remain confidential. To apply:
1. Submit a letter of request; all letters must include the camp week number, the dates of that week and the program name for which you are applying
- Example: Mary Jane would like week 1, June 25-29, Basic Camp.
- You must also state whether you need transportation/bus fee included in the amount requested or if you need before and/or after care.

- If you have any special circumstances you wish to state to assist in your application please include a brief description.
2. Include a copy of your IRS 1040 for 2011 with all applicable schedules. If you have not filed taxes, income verification is still required. You can include documentation from a state social service agency, a copy of your food stamp determination, school lunch eligibility form or other appropriate income verification. W-2 forms from employers will not be accepted.

Tag-A-Long Unit
A boy’s Tag-A-Long unit will be available for boys ages 5 through 11 who have a sister in camp. Boys and girls must attend the same week.
Extended Care
Before and After Care is available for an additional fee at each camp facility. Before-care hours are from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and after-care hours are from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The cost is $10 per session (a.m. or p.m.) per day. Children usually swim for part of the after care program activities.
Extended Care Discount
When registered for the full week of extended care, using before and after camp sessions, the fee is reduced to $75. Activities and snack are provided. Other discounts do not apply to extended care.
Extended Care Before/After Care
Available at Amity Acres day camp and the Ocean Service Center, Toms River. Bus transportation to/from camp to the Service Center is included in the extended day fee.
If you have already paid for Extended Care for the week and wish to sign up for the campfire and/or overnight options, please contact our day camp registrar at to have the cost of extended care adjusted; your campfire fee would be $17 not $25 and overnight fee would be $27 not $35.
Refund Policy
Full refunds are available prior to April 15, 2012. If a camper cannot attend day camp for non-medical reasons, fees paid will be refunded upon a written request at least one month prior to the first day of scheduled attendance, less a $50 administrative fee per week. For medical reasons, all fees paid will be honored only when accompanied by a physician's written statement explicitly stating why your child cannot particiapte.Refunds WILL NOT be given for days missed during a week, nor can missed days be “made up” during another week.
Late Fee
- Forms: all required forms must be completed online no later than two weeks prior to your child’s first day at camp. A $25 late fee will be automatically charged to your account if your forms are not completed on time.
- Outstanding Balances: all outstanding balances must be completely reconciled no later than two weeks prior to your child’s first day of each corresponding week of camp. A $25 late fee will be automatically charged to your account if balances are not paid.
Please note that if forms are not completed or outstanding balances are not reconciled in full, children will not be permitted to participate in camp.
Change Fee
After June 17, 2012, all scheduling changes will result in a $15 administrative fee per change, automatically charged to your account. We’ve extended our change fee dates! We want to make early reservations kinder if you find as you approach camp that changes must be made.
Payment Plan
Our online registration process allows you to construct your own payment plan. A minimum of $50 per week is required. You may add payments to your account anytime.
Note: If you elect to schedule payments, due dates andlate fees still applyegistration.
Lunch and Snack
Campers are required to bring their own lunch and snack labeled with their name. Water is available at all times. Campers must bring a reusable water bottle clearly labeled with their name; there are no paper cups at camp.
Email Reminders
Upcoming fees and paper work missing reminders come to you through email. Please read these emails as they are very important to avoid added fees. Other camp reminders also come through email – please keep in touch through email. Thank you.
No Lunch Days
No lunch is needed on July 7 and August 4. Everyone will participate in a special “make your own lunch day” where campers select the menu. Those with allergies or who don't like the selection may bring a meal of their own from home.
Trading Post/Camp Store
A variety of items to meet your camp needs and camp souvenirs are available in the camp store/trading post. Camper parents/guardians may choose to set up an online account for their child (upon processing the camp registration or at any time while your child is at camp with us). Account money must be used during the week(s) at camp or at our Girl Scout shops by September 28, 2012.
Camp Tee Shirts
As our way of thanking you for choosing Amity Acres Day Camp or Sacajawea Day Camp, each camper will receive one camp tee shirt as our gift. Please be sure to choose a size when completing your registration. If you do not choose a size your child will receive an Adult Small. Extra camp tee shirts may be purchased at the camp store/trading post for $10 per shirt.
